LIQUID Read this before posting – Liquid Damage

If your console has been exposed to liquid, stop using it and go through this first before posting.


Liquid damage can get worse quickly if the console is powered on.

First steps (important)​

• Turn the console off immediately
• Unplug it from power
• Do not keep trying to turn it on
• If possible, disconnect any internal battery

When you make a post, include:​

• Console model (PS5, Series S, etc.)
• What liquid was involved (water, drink, etc.)
• When it happened
• Whether the console was powered on at the time
• What it’s doing now (no power, no display, etc.)
• Any cleaning or repair attempts already made

Common issues after liquid damage​

• Short circuits on the board
• Corrosion over time
• Damaged connectors or ports
• Power issues or no boot

Basic cleaning advice​

• Open the console as soon as possible
• Inspect for visible residue or corrosion
• Clean affected areas with isopropyl alcohol (90%+ recommended)
• Let the board dry fully before testing

One thing to avoid​

Do not leave it to “dry out” and then power it on without cleaning.
This often causes more damage.

Final note​

The sooner it’s cleaned properly, the better the chance of saving it.
